International Symposium in Stockholm
From November 19-21, Professor Tom Rice and Dr Anushrut Ramakrishnan Agrwaal from the project were at the International Symposium, “Film strips, Slides and Beyond: Entangled Histories of Projected Images in Europe 1945–1995,” at the Filmhuset in Stockholm, organised by scholars from the University of Stockholm and Linnaeus University.
Professor Rice was invited to deliver the keynote entitled “Still, Unseen: The Filmstrip in Media History,” that set up questions critical to the ideological and archival legacy of filmstrips in Europe.
Dr Ramakrishnan Agrwaal presented some of his research, specifically focussing on individual producers within the post-war use of filmstrips in Britain and beyond.
